On September 25, 2024, the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa will host “A Bridge of Music-Genoa,” featuring the acclaimed soprano Francesca Dotto and renowned harpist Ieuan Jones. The concert will showcase the talents of the Orchestra dell’Opera Carlo Felice under the direction of Davide Massiglia.
The program includes:
- Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s Harp Concerto: A rarely performed piece that highlights the harp’s expressive range, with Ieuan Jones bringing his virtuosic skill to the forefront.
- Ottorino Respighi’s “Deità Silvane”: An evocative song cycle where Francesca Dotto will interpret the mystical and naturalistic themes of Respighi’s work.
- Felix Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 4 in A Major, Op. 90 (“Italian”): Inspired by Mendelssohn’s travels in Italy, this symphony captures the country’s vibrant spirit and landscapes.
Francesca Dotto is celebrated for her performances at prestigious venues such as Teatro La Fenice, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Wiener Staatsoper, and Komische Oper Berlin. She is renowned for roles like Violetta in “La Traviata” and Mimì in “La Bohème.”
Ieuan Jones, a distinguished harpist and professor at the Royal College of Music, has performed globally, including appearances with the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain and concerts in Hong Kong, Buenos Aires, Madrid, and Amsterdam.
