The Central City Opera will present Amahl and the Night Visitors for the holiday season. The opera will be performed three times on December 20, 21, and 22 at the Central Presbyterian Church in downtown Denver.

Amahl and the Night Visitors is a family-friendly opera that has remained a beloved classic since its premiere in 1951. Commissioned by NBC as the first opera written for television, it debuted on December 24, 1951, and became the first network television Christmas special to become an annual tradition.

The Central City Opera has made these performances a holiday tradition, having staged Gian Carlo Menotti’s opera in 2022 and 2023.
